Deol is the eldest daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She was a state level footballer and was selected in the Indian national team. She is part Punjabi-Sikh and part Hindu-Tamil. She is a half-sister of Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.Besides working in movies, Esha is an accomplished Odissi dancer and National Level football player. She speaks Tamil fluently with her mother Hema Malini and sister Ahana Deol.
